Supplier Diversity Program Eligibility Requirements
Your company must be certified as a minority- or woman-owned business enterprise (MWBE) to be considered for the HCA Central Atlantic Supply Chain Supplier Diversity Program. Your company can be certified from one of several certifying organizations (see Vendor Certification Resources for an applicable listing). For purposes of this Supplier Diversity Program, the HCA Central Atlantic Supply Chain only recognizes the following certifications:
- Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE): Defined as a for-profit enterprise physically located in the United States that is at least 51% owned by minority group members. Furthermore, the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members. “Minority group members” are defined in accordance with the census classifications as follows: United States citizens who are African American, Native American, Hispanic American, Asian-Pacific American, and Hasidic Jewish American.
- Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE): Defined as a for-profit enterprise physically located in the United States which is owned, operated, and controlled by one or more non-minority women who are United States citizens. Ownership by female individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by one or more such individuals. Furthermore, the management and daily operations are controlled by the woman or women owners.
The HCA Central Atlantic Supply Chain welcomes all suppliers to submit competitive bids for goods and services regardless of ownership. Only those certified vendors meeting the above criteria will be considered as part of the Supplier Diversity Program.
